Badachro and the surrounding district offer many activities, from outstanding hill walking to whale watching. Essentially the area provides peace and tranquility for those who enjoy the beauty and infinite variety that the this area has to offer. For walker the options are limitless.
Sea fishing is popular and Loch Gairloch holds a number of national records. Almost every loch holds suicidal wild brown trout. Salmon and sea trout fishing is also available nearby at modest cost. Gairloch sports a fine wee 9 hole golf course, while Gairloch Community School offers various sporting facilities.
A bit further north, Poolewe has the unforgettable Inverewe Gardens, run by the National Trust for Scotland. Flora from all over the world thrive in a climate warmed by the North Atlantic Drift. Also at Poolewe is a small swimming pool built by the local community, and open to visitors.
The village would not be complete without the Badachro Inn. Sitting in the beer garden after a hard days adventuring is truly golden. However if the weather or midge are out to get you, sharing a bottle inside the inn is a pretty good alternative.

Rubha Reidh Lighthouse
A single track road takes you out to the lighthouse offering dramatic views over The Minch to the Outer Hebrides with bird and marine life watching.
Inverewe Gardens
It is here you will see the tallest Australian gum trees in Britain, sweetly scented Chinese rhododendrons, exotic trees from Chile and Blue Nile lilies from South Africa, all growing on a latitude more northerly than Moscow.
Gairloch Heritage Museum (Taigh Tasgaidh Ghearrloch)
Situated in a restored farm steading at the Achtercairn road junction, this award winning museum, with it fascinating displays, exhibits and artifacts, gives you the whole history of the Gairloch area from Prehistoric times to the present day.
Golf Course
Golfers have the facility of a superbly situated and well maintained nine hole golf courseopen seven days a week.
Sea Trips and Loch Fishing
Sea fishing, marine life watching tours are available, together with yacht trips around the loch and offshore islands, these can be all booked at the harbour in Charleston. There are many hill lochs and rivers for the keen angler to explore.
